why you

Our natural state is the Beloved Community.

We may not have met but we live in agreement.

Along with all the losses we have experienced during the COVID19 pandemic are some gains.

Some of us have lost who we weren’t to gain who we are.

Did you go “off-script?” Maybe you changed careers, or just quit your job or a dead-end relationship. More than a few came out. They chose to live out their sexual or gender identity.

You feel liberated. The pandemic you is no longer under the gaze. You conserve your energy for what matters. You are free to question and ask questions. You may now be at peace, being agnostic and holding faith at the same time. Your not-knowing offers a more expansive way of being so that your practice makes more sense to you and less like something that you accepted because strangers handed it to you. Essential and useful gifts were passed down to you , too, but some of them are obsolete.

The idea of The Beloved Community, people from countless traditions living as one, is seeping into society in incomprehensible ways, and yet we know it’s real. Questers, inquirers are everywhere. If this is you, I invite you and hope you’ll ask me to this vast space where we are all one with one another and our planetary home.

There are more of us. We know we are somewhere out there, and we are coming out. It’s not only about sexual or gender identity. “Out” for some of us is knowing, living and speaking our truth. Whatever your creedal or non-observant origins, we can connect in the Spirit.

If you’re like me, then you’ve had your fill of mechanical, even forced exchanges. We want it to be effortless.

What is your current experience with nature?

Which books, podcasts, films are holding your attention?

We should talk.

I’m hardly looking for more work to do. My inbox is as full as yours. But if we can find strength in one another please introduce yourself below.

I gather with a few thoughtful people on Sundays over Zoom and I invite you, too. We are a Jesus-facing community who are made complete with people from other backgrounds. We are realizing who we are intended to be: The Beloved Community.

I am here reaching out for even more diversity. To connect with you?

Ubuntu: I am because we are.
